V04282 Controller is used to control Large Format Battery Systems (LFBS). LFBS itself and its Control System are designed as structured (distributed) architecture. Battery system will consist of Battery Modules. Battery Modules will be assembled into Battery Strings then Battery Strings will be connected in parallel to form Battery System. V04282 Controller can perform Battery String, Battery System Master and String+Master Controller Functions, and can be powered by a number of ways:

  • By battery itself 25-120Vdc (direct connection to Battery cells)
  • By 25-120Vdc external Power supply
  • By 24Vdc +/- 5% external Power supply
  • By combination of battery and external Power Supply (wired OR)

The MPU is able to provide high reliability of operation necessary to satisfy ASIL-D (Automotive Safety Integrity Level – Level D) requirements. All internal power supply voltages are constantly monitored. Application firmware has numerous self-diagnostic routines. For additional safety the controller has a stand alone on board Windows-based Watchdog IC. Controller has an extensive and flexible I/O system able to satisfy to virtually all Customer needs. CAN is a default interface for both internal (to battery System) and external communications. Both CANs are 1000Vdc isolated. CAN #2, which is intended for external communications has two parallel connectors. Controller can be expanded to add up to 2 additional communication sub-modules (daughter boards) such as WiFi, Bluetooth and DUST. Other can be designed in by Customer request. Controller has expansion connector which can be used to communicate to Customer’s add-on hardware.
